Courts story
A female victim tragically succumbed to a criminal's lethal overdose of fentanyl, ending her life abruptly before charring her to a crisp and abandoning her in an alleyway.
Dijuahn Andre Robinson was sentenced in court to six felony counts and two misdemeanors of those six counts he was charged with four of them.
His final verdict is that he has served five and a half years in prison and received supervised probation for a year and a half after his release.
The charges that he was convicted of were concealment of a dead body, Arson of property, tampering with physical evidence, and Possession of illegal substances, all of which were felonies.
For the murder of a female adult, Aiden Olmedo, and Possession of fentanyl when arrested, Mr. Robinson was Initially facing up to 14 years in prison.
Dijuahn took a plea deal in prior court hearings confessing to his crimes, however his latest appearance this month was the start of him officially serving his sentence.
This sentence reduction from 14 years to six was thanks to Mr. Robinson's defense attorney, Sam Harbison.
He requested his sentence be mitigated to those six years with supervised probation after his sentence is finished. This was the best-case scenario as the judge was ironclad on not going any lower for his sentence.
Sam Harbison made his case statements and provided evidence as to why his sentence should be reduced; Mr. Harbison stated Andre Robison's mitigation argument: "His family has had his full support since the incident occurred nine months ago.
Harbison also stated. "Mr. Robinson had significant medical issues. The list is extensive, but the most predominant medical issue was Dijuan, requiring pain relieving medication. Dijuan Robinson's exposure to fentanyl was devastating to his mental health."
Sam Harbison also said, "Dijuan Robinson fell on hard times as his daughter had been taken into custody in Antigua for a short period of time and he was doing everything in his means legally to get her out of custody."
The prosecutor of the case, Luke Coyne, refuted the short sentence and argued for the full prison term to be inflicted up Mr. Robinson. Luke stated, "He is a danger to the community and needs the highest sentencing possible. Your honor, look at the family he's impacted and the magnitude of his actions."
Luke went on further, saying, "he possessed highly illegal substances, overdosing her and charred the victim's body like barbeque!" and trying to hide her body."
However, the final prison term was decided as Judge Kerstin Lemaire acknowledged that Mr. Robison entered a plea deal.
Judge Kerstin said, "As you've entered a guilty plea agreement. Today, you are guilty of counts one, two, and four, which will be running concurrently for the remainder of your term starting today. You will serve a total of six years and will be placed under supervised probation upon your release."
Dejian Andre Robinson is a 37-year-old African American who was living at Garfield Commons Apartment homes at the time of the murder of Aiden Olmedo, whom he called over to his apartment to partake In the usage of fentanyl.
Overdosing, she lay lifeless on his apartment bed. Distraught, Mr. Robinson called a friend to help remove the body; he covered the body with a shower tarp, placed her in the shopping cart, and set the body ablaze.
Mr. Robinson has made 17 court appearances since his arrest last June. His six-year sentence started this past Wednesday.
